Changes to Total Forecast Page beginning February 15th, 2007
National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts obtained via the map found on Montana NWS home pages are now generated using forecast fields from the locally created portion of the gridded National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD).
This means that forecasts found on the Total Forecast Page will be dynamically generated based on the exact Point-and-Click map location, resulting in a more site specific forecast than the current area-averaged Zone Forecast text product.
In addition to a dynamically created forecast, Hourly Weather Graphs and Tabular Digital Forecasts using the same locally created NDFD information will be available toward the bottom right of the Total Forecast Page under "Additional Forecasts & Information."
The area-averaged Zone Forecast text product issued by Montana NWS offices will still be available toward the bottom right of the Total Forecast Page and the Last 30 Products Issued drop down menu above the home page map.
