2008 SPOTTER TRAINING SCHEDULE

SkywarnTM Logo The National Weather Service relies on trained volunteers to provide ground truth information regarding severe storms and tornadoes. These dedicated individuals volunteer several hours of their time to learn about and detect severe weather. Weather reports from trained spotters are used in conjunction with doppler radar data to issue and/or tailor warnings of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and flash floods.

For additional storm spotting information, visit our Skywarn™ spotter webpage here.
