FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOS ANGELES/OXNARD CA
 236 PM PDT WED APR 1 2015

...PERIODS OF GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS WITH LOW HUMIDITIES WILL
BRING ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THURSDAY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS...

...GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS WITH SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES WILL BRING
ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TO MUCH OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES
    LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY...

 .DISCUSSION...
GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREAS TONIGHT
AND THURSDAY...WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS ACROSS THE SANTA YNEZ RANGE
AND INTERSTATE 5 CORRIDOR TONIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. NORTHERLY WIND
GUSTS BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED IN THE WINDIER SPOTS. ALONG
WITH THE WINDS...RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL REMAIN LOW. HUMIDITY RECOVERY
TONIGHT WILL GENERALLY BE POOR AWAY FROM THE COAST...AND VALUES WILL
FALL INTO THE TEENS AND SINGLE DIGITS DURING THE DAY ON THURSDAY. DUE
TO THE GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...ELEVATED
FIRE WEATHER DANGER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY...WITH BRIEF PERIODS
 OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

FOR THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY...THE WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTHEAST
AND MOSTLY IMPACT VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES. NORTHEAST WINDS
GUSTING BETWEEN 35 AND 50 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED IN THE WINDIER SPOTS.
THE NORTHEAST FLOW WILL ALSO BRING WIDESPREAD SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITY
AND WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES TO THE ENTIRE AREA ON FRIDAY. DUE
TO THE COMBINATION OF WINDS...LOW HUMIDITY AND WARM TEMPERATURES...THE
ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA...WITH A FEW HOURS
OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY ACROSS INLAND SECTIONS OF
 VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES.

ON SATURDAY...THE FLOW WILL TURN ONSHORE...WITH THE ONSHORE FLOW
STRENGTHENING SUNDAY AND MONDAY. WITH THE ONSHORE FLOW...COOLER
TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER RELATIVE HUMIDITY CAN BE EXPECTED. ADDITIONALLY
THERE WILL BE GUSTY SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND
 DESERTS.
