East Santa Barbara Channel Buoy (46053) Recovered From Anacapa Island

NOAA Buoy 46053, (E. Santa Barbara - 12NM SW of Santa Barbara) went adrift on Nov. 3, 2008 - sending the last report from its moored position at 2300utc. The U.S. Coast Guard has recovered buoy 46053 and repair efforts are currently underway. NOAA's National Data Buoy Center will continue to work with U.S. Coast Guard to redeploy buoy 46053 at the first opportunity.

UPDATE - Wed Dec 3, 2008:
The buoy has been repaired! It is scheduled for redeployment sometime within the next 7 days.
