According to preliminary data received by NOAA's National Weather Service in Pendleton Oregon, temperatures at Pendleton airport averaged slightly warmer than normal during the month of January.
The average temperature was 35.8 degrees which was 0.5 degrees above normal. High Temperatures averaged 46.2 degrees, which was 4.4 degrees above normal. The highest was 69 degrees on the 4th. Low temperatures averaged 25.4 degrees, which was 3.4 degrees below normal. The lowest was 11 degrees, on the 12th.
There were 27 days with the low temperature below 32 degrees. There was 1 day when the high temperature stayed below 32 degrees.
Precipitation totaled 1.54 inches during January, which was 0.11 inches above normal. Measurable precipitation -at least .01 inch- was received on 11 days with the heaviest, 0.54 inches reported on the 19th.
Since October, the water year precipitation at Pendleton airport has been 3.62 inches, which is 1.81 inches below normal.
