In the upper left hand corner of the graphic is the forecast Red Flag Threat Index based on the current day’s projected Minimum Relative Humidity and Maximum Wind Speeds. Values range from 1 to 10 and are based on contingency tables developed for the local area. Readings 8 and higher indicate a high potential for red flag conditions being met.
In the upper right hand corner, is the Red Flag Threat Index for the current hour using observed relative humidity and wind speeds.
In the lower left corner of the graphic are two displays. The first is a Haines Index Threat based on the forecasts of high level Haines Index and minimum RH. Values are scaled to fit between 1 and 6. Values close to 6 indicate a high likelihood of reaching red flag conditions for Haines and RH. The second display is the observed Haines threat using the Forecast Haines and observed RH.
In the lower right hand corner of the graphic are three displays. The first is the probability of minimum RH’s of 15% or less, second the probability of RH’s 25% or less, and third the observed RH for the present hour.
