Strong southerly winds are expected to develop this afternoon and evening in the Southern Highlands and Lower Snake Plain. The strongest winds are expected out of north-south oriented gaps where winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph are possible. A wind advisory is in effect from 2 pm to 11 pm today for these areas.
