June 4, 2009, Willamette Valley
A line of storms extending from the Cascades to the Coast Range marched from the south end of the valley to the southern extent of the Portland metro area causing flooding in Cottage Grove, 70+ mph wind gusts in Corvallis, a tornado in Peoria, and 1" hail in Marcola and Harrisburg. This was one of the strongest, widespread thunderstorms in recent memory.

May 2, 2009, Portland Metro Area
An intense storm moved through the metro area blowing down numerous trees, one of which landed on a car causing a fatality near Beaverton. The storm produced 50 to 60 mph winds throughout the metro area and also produced 1/2" diameter hail.

May 24, 2008, North Valley including Portland Metro Area
A storm moved through the gorge and dropped golf ball sized hail near Multnomah Falls before progessing westward over the north valley and dumping copious amounts of rain breaking KPDX's one hour precipitation record (0.93" in 1 hr). An NWS employee in Vancouver measured 1.40" in one hour with this storm.
