+20 to -19 Work outside becomes unpleasant. Hats, coats, and gloves are needed.
-20 to -34 Work outside becomes more hazardous. Heavy outer clothing is needed.
-35 to -49 Frostbite can occur with prolonged exposure. Heavy outer clothing is essential.
-50 to -79 Frostbite can occur within a minute. Face protection is important. Multiple layers of clothing are essential.
-80 to -99 Frostbite can occur in 30 to 60 seconds. Face protection is essential. Work outside is dangerous.
< -99 Frostbite occurs in less than 30 seconds. People working outside will become easily fatigued. Outdoor work or travel is very dangerous.
