Cyclone: Hurricane Polo
Date it affected AZ: October 3, 1984
Affected Arizona as...: Remnants (dissipated over southern Sonora, Mexico)

Polo's moisture, combined with the weak trough coming in from the eastern Pacific, produced rather heavy rain over eastern Arizona and western New Mexico. Nogales received 1.93 inches, while a few mountain sites also picked up over an inch. Interestingly enough, an early morning severe thunderstorm ahead of Polo produced 2.5 inch diameter hail in southern Gila County on October 2nd.
