On March 3, 1938...
Severe flooding damaged the railroad, inundated a large residential section of Caliente and stores and homes in Logandale on the Muddy River. Also severely damaged were irrigation works, crops, roads, bridges, farmland, and dwellings in the lower Moapa Valley. Peak discharges were estimated at 15,000 cubic feet per second.

On March 3, 1976...

One tenth of an inch of snow was recorded in Las Vegas. This marked the latest measurable snow ever.
