Winds become breezy Tuesday through the weekend. && .DISCUSSION...After a chilly start to the day, temperatures are warming quickly across northern Arizona. Daytime highs will be around 5-10 degrees warmer than Sunday. The warming trend will continue over the next couple days. The forecast handles this well and no major updates are needed. && .PREV DISCUSSION /233 AM MST/...Another clear and cold night is occurring across the area with temperatures dipping below freezing in a few of our colder locations. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will be seasonable and warm in the low to mid 70s across the high country and low to mid 80s for the lower elevations. Those temperatures with sunny skies and light winds will set up a couple of very nice days. Temperatures will continue to warm Wednesday through Friday with several disturbances passing just to our north bringing the return of breezy west to southwest winds each afternoon. By the weekend, it is possible that a low may develop off the California coast and bring periods of strong winds and critical fire weather for the weekend. We will continue to monitor this in the coming days. && .AVIATION...For the 18Z package...VFR conditions will prevail through the next 24 hours. Winds will generally be 10 kts or less. Aviation discussion not updated for TAF amendments. && .FIRE WEATHER...Expect dry weather, warming daytime temperatures, and typical afternoon breezes. Afternoon humidity will mostly remain below 10 percent. Afternoon Haines Index will reach 5 or 6 for most areas. Wednesday through Friday...Little change in the weather is anticipated with dry and warm conditions continuing.
