FXUS65 KFGZ 240933 AFDFGZ Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ 233 AM MST Mon May 24 2021 .SYNOPSIS...Monday temperatures will warm quickly for a very nice day across the area. Winds become breezy on Wednesday and into the weekend. Daytime temperatures will be mild through this entire week. && .DISCUSSION...Another clear and cold night is occurring across the area with temperatures dipping below freezing in a few of our colder locations. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will be seasonable and warm in the low to mid 70s across the high country and low to mid 80s for the lower elevations. Those temperatures with sunny skies and light winds will set up a couple of very nice days. Temperatures will continue to warm Wednesday through Friday with several disturbances passing just to our north bringing the return of breezy west to southwest winds each afternoon. By the weekend, it is possible that a low may develop off the California coast and bring periods of strong winds and critical fire weather for the weekend. We will continue to monitor this in the coming days. && .AVIATION...For the 12Z package...Clear skies and VFR conditions will continue. Light winds becoming southwest through northwest this afternoon around 10 kts with gusts near 15 kts. Aviation discussion not updated for TAF amendments. && .FIRE WEATHER...Expect dry weather, warming daytime temperatures, and typical afternoon breezes. Afternoon humidity will mostly remain below 10 percent. Afternoon Haines Index will reach 5 or 6 for most areas. Wednesday through Friday...Little change in the weather is anticipated with dry and warm conditions continuing.
