For the weekend, southwest winds look to increase with the potential for critical fire weather conditions. && .DISCUSSION...The forecast remains on track with only slight modifications to the forecasted sky cover based on the most recent model guidance. && .PREV DISCUSSION /1244 PM MST/...A plume of upper level moisture moving in from the Pacific will bring broken high clouds to the region late tonight into Wednesday. Unfortunately, this will hurt our chances of seeing the Flower Blood Moon Eclipse set to take place early Wednesday morning. Otherwise, fairly quiet weather is anticipated through Friday with typical breezy southwest winds and warm temperatures. A disturbance will pass to our north on Wednesday afternoon bringing a slight increase in winds, but gusts should top out around 25-30 mph. For the weekend, latest model guidance continues to indicate a weak trough and associated cut-off low will develop over the Southwest US. Ensemble guidance remains consistent in showing wind speeds near the threshold for critical fire weather conditions. No precipitation is expected.
